Will you come to my home?

All sessions take place in the comfort of your own home for the ultimate privacy and comfort. From experience I understand that it’s much easier for new parents to stay at home in the early days following the birth. My relaxed approach creates a calm atmosphere during the session. I have a professional portable studio & lighting which I am experienced at adapting to suit all spaces.

When is the best time for pregnancy portraits?

I recommend booking as soon as possible after your 20 week scan and scheduling your session for when you are between 32 – 36 weeks. If you are having twins or are booked for an early induction you may wish to capture your pregnancy earlier. I will fit with you and your choices.

Can I have colour as well as black & white?

I do a mixture of black & white and colour options for all session’s. .

Newborn Photography session FAQ.

How long does the session last?

A newborn session is never rushed and the time frame depends on your baby that day. I like to allow at least 3 hours for each session. This may be slightly longer for a newborn twin photography session. I always ensure that there is plenty of time for feeding and changing your little one. It is important that your newborn is comfortable and relaxed for his/ her portraits. I am more than happy to wait as long as needed for the right moment..

When should I book my newborn session?

As soon as possible after your 20-week scan. Because your baby’s birth date is unpredictable, a note of your due date will be taken and a time frame will be reserved. If you are having a C-section then a date for your newborn session can be confirmed in advance. If you are booking the pregnancy and newborn photography package your maternity portrait session date will be reserved and a note of your due date will be made. Although newborn sessions are often booked quite far in advance there are occasionally last-minute openings. Please feel free to contact me for availability.

How soon after my baby arrives should I have my newborn portraits session?

The perfect age for a newborn session is within the first three weeks. I advise my Clients to contact me as soon as is convenient after the birth so that we can find a suitable day to capture their newborn portraits. I listen to my Clients and respect their wishes. This is my recommended time-frame for newborn photography but I am always happy to fit with your preferences.

My Baby is already three weeks old, is it too late for newborn pictures?

Newborns are much sleepier in the early days and still have their ‘curled up’ newborn look. It can also be easier to position them into those beautiful curled up sleepy poses shown on my website. However, I have photographed newborns up to 5 and 6 weeks old and the results are just as precious. If you haven’t planned your newborn session but now your baby has arrived you would like to arrange a newborn session as quickly as possible then there are sometimes last-minute slots available and it is always worth checking.

How do I prepare for my session?

I will discuss ideas for your session with you and make suggestions to help create classic family portraits. Plenty of time is allowed for outfit changes, just have to hand any clothes you would like to change into neatly ironed and ready to go. Depending on the size of the family it can also be useful to have a couple of chairs or stalls to hand portrait posing.
