There’s something incredibly special about being invited back into a family’s life to photograph their journey. This maternity and newborn photography session in Tower Hamlets, East London. This was my third time capturing memories for this beautiful family. A true honour and one I never take for granted.

From First Pregnancy to Growing Family

We first met two years ago, when I photographed their first pregnancy and newborn session. Now, their little boy has grown into a lively, affectionate toddler — full of energy and personality. I had the joy of photographing him during his mum’s second pregnancy and again when his newborn baby sister arrived.

It’s moments like these that remind me exactly why I love what I do.

Natural, Relaxed Photography at Home

All of my newborn and maternity photography sessions in London, Surrey, and Kent take place in the comfort of your home. For this session, I brought my portable studio, complete with professional lighting, silks, bandeau tops, and handmade outfits for the newborn.

Everything is chosen with care to create timeless and elegant portraits, while allowing families to feel relaxed, calm, and comfortable.

Being at home makes such a difference — especially for new mums and mums-to-be. You can rest, feed, and simply be yourself. We arranged this session around the family’s routine to suit their toddler’s nap and mealtime, making the entire experience smooth and enjoyable.

Capturing Joyful and Tender Moments

One of my favourite images from this session is a joyful black and white photograph of mum and her son, laughing as they play with the wind machine. It’s spontaneous, genuine, and full of life — a perfect snapshot of their bond and the love in their home.

We captured so many beautiful portraits throughout both the maternity and newborn sessions. From candid laughter to quiet, emotional moments, each image tells part of their family’s story.

Among them were two especially meaningful portraits. One shows mum glowing and expectant before baby arrived. The other captures the family together, lovingly cradling their newborn daughter. These “before and after” moments are just a glimpse of the full gallery we created — a story my clients will cherish forever.

A Photography Experience That Puts You at Ease

Over the years, many of my clients return time and again, just like this family. They often share how relaxed and cared for they feel during their sessions. They appreciate the calm, unhurried pace I bring — something especially important with young children and newborns.

My aim is always to create a space where you can be yourselves. That’s when the most meaningful images happen.

One tender moment from this session was a quiet portrait of dad kissing mum gently on the cheek as she held their newborn daughter. It’s these small, heartfelt moments that say so much in a photograph.

Including everyone – big brother too

We also took time to include portraits of their toddler in both sessions. It’s a wonderful way to update his photos and make him feel special and involved during such an important family milestone.

There’s no greater compliment than being invited back. Knowing that the images I create become part of your family’s history — displayed on walls and passed through generations — means everything.
