In a rare quiet moment between photoshoots today I thought I’d quickly share a few pictures from this beautiful Pregnancy and Newborn Photography Session Clapham.
Some weeks my feet don’t seem to touch the ground but those are my favourite weeks! It has been glorious this week as I have returned to many of my pregnancy photoshoot clients for their newborn sessions. Being one of the first to meet their new arrival is definitely one of the perks of the job!
It’s a thrill to capture the beauty of pregnancy and then meet the little person who was curled up inside the bump. Celebrating new life in this way is an incredible joy.
I think these pictures create a lasting memory of a very special time. There is something so effortlessly elegant about black & white maternity portraits. This mamma to be looked absolutely stunning. I am sure these pictures will be kept in the family for generations.
I was talking to one of my Client’s recently on a photoshoot about the importance of taking time to capture these moments with professional photographs. In a time when we are saturated with i-phone images and selfies it is important to have photographs that will be valued, printed, put into albums and framed rather than disappear into Facebook. I am so glad that people feel as passionately about photography as I do. My family albums are my most treasured possessions. I feel it is important to give my children the same. Beautiful albums full of pictures of important moments in our lives.
The newborn photographs from this session always make me smile. This little man was not sleepy at all. So we captured many of him awake. The middle shot is my favourite. I bundled him up in a swaddle to keep his little arms still for a moment. He has the sweetest little round face. You can see him just gently peeling it away with his tiny hands.
As always shared with permission….

West London Newborn Photographer
This was a lovely newborn photography session in West London. After photographing their first child two years ago at only two weeks old. I couldn’t wait to return and meet his new baby brother. He was just as beautiful and I love the results of this session.
I’m delighted to share a few of my favourites from our photoshoot.
The first is a perfect little tummy pose from this gorgeous newborn baby boy. Just look at his little folded arms. This is a classic newborn baby portrait. I can imagine it being treasured for years to come by all the family.
It can be challenging getting a toddler close enough to kiss a newborn safely. This little one was a dream though! He couldn’t wait to kiss his new baby brother. Just at the moment he leaned in for the kiss the baby had a quick peak to see what going on. I loved capturing this sweet moment.
The next shot I’ve chosen is the “tiger in the woods”. I took the same photograph of his older brother at two weeks old. They will look amazing next to each other in a frame.
The final picture I’ve chosen is this beautiful mother & baby portrait. I often take shots whilst parents are soothing and settling their babies. It was towards the end of our session and the baby was becoming a little unsettled. I took this just as she was shhhing and settling him. It just seemed so natural and captured the moment perfectly.
As a mother I find pictures of me with my children are rare and even more so as they grow up. These tender moments should be captured and treasured. Your little ones will thank you for it and hold them dear.
With special thanks to my Client for permission to share these special moments.

Newborn Photographer South West London
This sweet little newborn was photographed at just two weeks new. I love the shot I took with the beautiful handmade blanket, made by her great Grandma. It was lovely to capture something so personal for the family. With her little fingers gently resting by her face.

For this next portrait I used a soft handmade bonnet and wrap from my collection of handmade newborn props. These are always firm favourites with my Clients. The beautiful cobweb affect of this wrap is stunning. It’s very fragile and delicate. This little one was such a dream to photograph.
I always photograph the little details like the hands and feet. One of my favourite ways to capture perfect toes is cupped in their parents hands. Like a little clam. For this one I used Daddy’s hand on top and mummy’s underneath.
There is nothing quite like the memory of your newborn baby grasping onto one of your fingers. Their ting fingers wrapped around one of yours. Possibly the best feeling in the world. Definitely one that you never forget and it is so lovely to create a lasting memory of this.
It is hard to resist a double pom pom hat! This is another favourite with my Clients. It’s just so gorgeous in this adorable folded arm position.

Choosing the perfect time for your newborn session
I like to take the lead of the new parents on this one. My guide is to book your newborn portrait session before your baby is born. This is so that a time period around your due date can be reserved. It ensure that I can fit you in within the first 1 – 3 weeks following the birth. This is the ideal time for newborn portraits. It is when your baby is still sleepy and we can achieve these beautiful newborn poses.
The reason I say I like to take the parents lead is because this is simply my guide. Births are unpredictable and sometimes there is a little more recovery time needed. I always listen to my Clients and work with their needs.

Pregnancy Photography Session, Notting Hill, London
Another lovely pregnancy photoshoot in Notting Hill, one of my favourite pockets of london!
This session was such a pleasure to do with this beautiful mother to be and her husband. Excitedly preparing for the arrival of their first baby. We had a very relaxed afternoon at their home in Notting Hill. I love taking my pregnancy photography studio to my Clients homes. The studio can easily adapt to any space. I am very used to working in London homes of all shapes and sizes. The results are always professional, studio quality portraits. Taken in the comfort of your own home.
A photoshoot at home in my opinion is the setting is perfect for pregnancy photography. It is completely private. Allowing my Clients to relax and enjoy their photoshoot. With no time pressures or limitations. I am very open to ideas and like to incorporate all portraits they would like to achieve. Often reviewing and discussing ideas before and during the session. I also bring plenty of fabrics with me which work well in black & White.
I love getting to know my Clients and we often end up laughing a lot. It’s great when these moments are captured on camera. The in-between moments that are natural. These always stand out to me.
I love the sheer joy on their faces in their couple portrait. The smile I captured in her silk fabric portrait. These are pictures tell a beautiful story of their journey through pregnancy together.
Client Comments:
” Thank you so very much for the wonderful pictures! It was lovely doing this photoshoot with you. Such a wonderful time in my life and I’m so happy to have had it photographed by you. I will definitely be in touch for a Mommy/baby shoot!”

Newborn Twin Photography Session London
Before I leave for my Sunday pregnancy photoshoot I had to just share these two little beauties. Photographed at a recent newborn twin photography session near Tower Bridge, London.
Two peas in a pod. The perfect shot for a lovely lazy Sunday afternoon! I hope you are all enjoying yours. The sun has been in and out today and it’s been the ideal weather for the London Marathon. I’ve been thinking of all the runners today. We usually try to make it down to Greenwich for our two children to high five the runners. Unfortunately this year with our schedule of photoshoots it’s just not been possible. We’ve had our own mini marathon in the garden though. My two love to have races up and down whilst we time them. Obstacle courses are another firm favourite! A great way to wear them out before bedtime!
I wonder if these two will ever run in the London marathon or perhaps the Olympics?! I wonder what their path will be. They look so perfect wrapped up in this little pod and it was a wonderful newborn session.
I love newborn twin photography sessions. It is incredible to photograph two tiny babies together and an honour to be one of the first to meet them. They were both as dreamy as they look in this picture.
Twin sessions do take longer than single newborn sessions. I recommend booking as far in advance as possible (after your 20 week scan) so that the photoshoot can be planned. Please contact me for details.
I’m looking forward to returning in a few months for their 6 month session. It will be amazing to document them as they grow! Watch this space for their next session pictures to see the changes. I will do a gallery at the end of their first year to show the transition. I have a great ‘watch me grow’ programme. Drop me an email or fill in your details on the booking page for details.
