There is a special magic that takes place when photographing newborn twins. As a photographer, it really is a special and rewarding experience. I have learnt a lot about twins over the years from observing them during these photoshoots. Even though these sessions do often take longer the results are always worth the extra patience.
These two little darlings were a pure joy from start to finish. I feel so lucky to have captured this fleeting moment in time for them and their family. Isn’t it amazing to think of them curled up like this inside their mother just under two weeks before our photoshoot. I’m so glad that this image captures that incredible bond. The unbreakable twin bond. The indestructible sister bond. What a wonderful friendship these two will have and what adventures to come!

Health & Wellbeing
Now more than ever, I feel very fortunate to be able to provide families with the convenient option of capturing pregnancy, newborn & family portraits in the safe and controlled environment of their own home. My top priority has always been and continues to be the health and safety of the families I photograph.
As well as my usual high standards of hygiene during each photoshoot I have taken time to add additional precautions to mitigate any risk for your family and myself.
Photoshoot procedure
- I have always and will continue to schedule only one photoshoot per day which will allow time to fully clean and sanitise all my props and equipment after each photoshoot. You can also choose to provide your own outfits and props for your baby if you prefer and I am always happy to discuss the best options.
- I will wash my hands thoroughly on arrival at your home and frequently throughout the photoshoot.
- I will use my own hand sanitiser throughout the session.
- All family members taking part are also requested to frequently wash their hands and use sanitiser to maintain hygiene through the session.
- On arrival at your home I will remove my shoes and leave them at your front door.
- I will also wear a fresh face mask and clean new cotton gloves when handling your baby during each session.
- Your private viewing appointment for image selection after your photoshoot will be conducted via zoom.
- If I am unwell I will postpone your photoshoot for the recommended safe amount of time.
- If you or a member of your family are unwell please let me know with as much notice as possible to reschedule your photoshoot.
- I will continue to monitor the Government guidelines to ensure I am always up to date.
- Session dates may need to change if appropriate and I will provide flexibility for rescheduling dates.

Maternity Portrait Photographer London
I am so happy to share this portrait of a truly radiant mother-to-be. This was such a joyful maternity photoshoot and I think this image captures the mood perfectly.
Preparing for your photoshoot
I am always very conscious that there may be some nervousness about the photoshoot. Particularly if you are someone who is not used to standing in front of a camera. You may even feel a little self-conscious about how your body has changed and yet still want to capture your pregnancy as a personal record.
My aim is to always make you feel happily relaxed throughout your photoshoot. I believe that to truly capture the energy of the moment you have to be completely at ease with me as your photographer. Some of my favourite portraits that I capture are what I call the ‘in-between shots’. There is always a moment in every photoshoot when it’s almost as if everyone has forgotten the camera is there but I’m still constantly taking pictures. This was one of these moments. You can just see her laughter and happiness and that we were completely at ease.
I do think that having your photoshoot at home also helps with this. It is private, familiar and of course comfortable. With access to your own bathroom, robes, make-up, accessories, and clothes. I am very used to adapting my studio to fit the space when I arrive and I can make it work every time.

I have a natural and classic style of photography and I like to create pictures that complement each other beautifully. Images that would work well displayed as a series of framed fine art prints on the wall or in a beautifully handmade album. However, you choose to display your finished images I have lots of options available.

Newborn Twin Photography …
Photographing newborn twin’s is a truly magical experience. For a newborn photographer, it is one of the biggest joys and I am lucky to have photographed many sets of twins over the years. Working with twins is very different from a single newborn session. Both require experience but it is important to be prepared and to know how to position them safely together.
It takes time to achieve these shots, sometimes one is settled and the other one not and so on. But with a little patience, tenderness and a calming atmosphere, we get there eventually and the results are worth the wait. Two beautiful little babies curled up sweetly together.

These two were photographed at their home in Kensington London at just two weeks new! I have many favourite shots from this session and it was hard to choose just one for my post today!
My style of newborn photography is very natural and classic. What I love about this shot is that there are no distractions, just a gentle white backdrop and the two of them sleeping peacefully. Mum chose a soft grey outfit for the baby boy and a soft white outfit baby girl. I have a suitcase of freshly washed handmade baby outfits that I bring to each session. You can see some of the other outfits on my Instagram page
Although I have plenty of sweet hats and headbands I do believe that simple is best. I like to focus on the beauty of each newborn, elegant shots that create a lasting memory of this precious fleeting time. The outfits I have chosen are soft and gentle enough not to hide their delicate features.
Timing of a newborn photoshoot …
I understand how private and precious those first few weeks after birth are and I am sensitive to new parents and siblings. I try to respond to how everyone is on the day. Appreciating that everything is very new, that the night may have been sleepless and that they are still getting to know their new arrival or arrival’s! I take time to get to know the family I am working with. Working tirelessly to ensure the atmosphere is calm and relaxed throughout the photoshoot.
I also make sure that the selection process is easy and straight forward. To help as much as I can I offer a complimentary viewing appointment again in the privacy of your own home to help with choices and product selection.
A newborn twin photoshoot takes approximately three hours. Sometimes more sometimes less! I am very flexible and I don’t really like to put a timescale on my session’s. I just know when all the shots have been achieved and everyone is happy. It sometimes requires more time sometimes less. It is very difficult to put a timescale on a newborn baby! I prefer to follow how they are responding on the day.
This week I returned to photograph these beautiful twins again! This time as a family photoshoot with Mum, Dad, and their beautiful older sister. It was a real treat to see them all again, now at that gorgeous cute 3month baby stage but still perfectly small just with cute cheeky baby smiles which were a delight to photograph!

Newborn Photography Session in Greenwich London
It has been a while since I’ve had a moment to add to my blog and I apologise for the silence! I have been updating my Instagram and Facebook pages when I can with recent newborn photography session’s. But it is hard to find the time to sit down sometimes!
2020 has got off to a wonderful start with lots of beautiful newborn photoshoots in and around London. I have loved meeting lots of new families on my journies so far and photographing their beautiful new arrivals. There is no greater joy than meeting a new baby and for me having the opportunity to create a truly special record of that time for the family.
Yesterday I was as far as Windsor photographing incredible sweet newborn twin boys! It made me so happy to be there with them. The twins were the most peaceful and gorgeous little new beings! It was also my first time in Windsor! Despite living in London for over 20 years, I hadn’t yet ventured that far, and it really isn’t that far!
I can see why the Royal family love it so much. It’s a beautiful place with a special feel. I loved the small alleyways, cobbled streets and old signage in the shops close to Eton. It felt like a step back in time and it was also a bright sunny day which gave me a spring in my step!
Newborn Photography Session in Greenwich London
Another favourite spot of mine in London (which is a little closer to home) is Greenwich. And this is where I went to photograph this gorgeous newborn baby girl. Greenwich is another place like Windsor for me. Steeped in history with views across London and full of memories for me of walks with my children, from babies to toddlers to the bigger children they are now! Greenwich has been and continues to be their playground! And what a wonderful playground it is too!
This little darling slept through the entire photo shoot. I captured lots of beautiful moments with her parents and this is one of my favourite shots. The blanket is hers and I believe was a gift, I love including personal items in my pictures. As well as using my own outfits and blankets it is nice to include some things which have significance for the family. There is a soft and gentle feel to the folds of the blanket and her sweet peaceful expression with little fists clenched tight as she sleeps makes this picture for me.
Lost in that blissful baby world, safe, happy and loved.

Pregnancy Photoshoot London
Is there anything better than starting the new year and indeed the new decade than with a new family member?! I loved my pregnancy and newborn photography session’s which took place during and towards the end of 2019 and I’m now looking forward to meeting more 2020 babies and their families!
My daughter was born at the end of 2010 and so it was almost a decade ago since I held her in my arms and brought her home from the hospital. My first baby, I have to say, hopefully without sounding cliche! but it really does feel like yesterday and yet so much has happened in the 10 years since her arrival! Including the arrival of my son just 5 years ago. I remember both of my pregnancy’s vividly. How I felt, how I changed and the incredible people I met along the way who have become dear friends. It’s wonderful to reflect on that time and to see where we are now. I am looking forward to this new decade, to new adventures with my family and hopefully lots of positive changes.
I thought this was the perfect image to start the New Year. It is one of my favourites from a lovely pregnancy photoshoot in Hammersmith with this beautiful mum to be! There are moments during each session when everyone is relaxed and we are all really enjoying the photoshoot. These moments are so beautiful to capture. A natural smile, a giggle, a laugh and ultimately a moment of pure joy frozen in time.
A private pregnancy photoshoot at home is a wonderful way to capture this incredible time in your life. Even if you are unsure if you would feel comfortable in front of the camera, these pictures will provide a beautiful record of this time for you to look back on. I always think of my maternity pictures as a celebration of motherhood, a beautiful way to welcome your baby into the world.
